For Tamil Nadu government employees, complain to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC). Its website says it does not entertain anonymous petitions, so give your name and contact details.

If it involves a central government office

For central offices, banks or post offices, the Central Vigilance Commission (cvc.gov.in) or the vigilance unit of the department concerned may be the right place.

What a good complaint contains

  • Your name, address and phone number.
  • The office and the officer’s designation (and name if you know it).
  • The date, place and the amount asked or paid.
  • The service involved and the documents you hold, such as an acknowledgement slip.
  • Only what you experienced yourself. Avoid guesses.
